I looked through the bag and saw nothing in there. It might have been a strange coincidence. How strange, that reminds me of Red’s Pikachu, I thought. The Pikachu was named “…” while the Unown were just named “?”. The Pikachu was level 88 and the Unown were all level 50. He had one shiny female Pikachu on his team and 5 Unown that spelled a strange word “AUGUR”. I wondered if this guy would just have his starter on his team and other weak wild pokemon he caught, but I was wrong. The music sounded as if the GB player was turned on. The overworld sprite was parked at Goldenrod City. Another 2 seconds after that, the game finally loaded. The black screen lasted for 3 minutes too long just to load the game. I selected the save file and waited for it to load. It was as if this kid had just bought a new game, hacked it, and instantly sold it to Gamestop just for kicks. He had no gameplay time, but the Pokedex was filled completely, with all 493 pokemon. The question mark was blue, which meant this guy was a boy. Maybe this person accidentally got their game washed when they left it in their pocket… I waited for the menu to come up I thought it would be just an everyday kid who played this game, but the name of the player that came up was just “?”. That’s a lower pitch than I remember, I thought. The introduction went by smoothly, and I stared at the Ho-Oh flying through the clouds very slowly and heard its cry as I pressed start. I anticipated the disturbing image and the game freezing, but Silver’s image seemed to be back to normal like I remembered. Once again, the normal Game Freak logo came up on the screen, and I decided to look at the introduction once more. I slowly pushed the button and booted up my Heart Gold game once more. I couldn’t get that horrid image off my screen, so franticly I turned off my DS. Even the reset combo L R triggers+Start and Select. I tried every button combination possible. Those weren’t normal tears though, they were tears of blood. His skin was pale white, and he had a depressed look. There were very dark circles around Silver’s eyes, as if he were deprived of sleep for weeks. He would usually have a smug look on his face. Silver seemed to have a different expression on his face than what I remembered. When Silver’s image came on the screen, the music cut off and the game froze. Just the long sleeves “blowing” in the wind like a scarecrow without arms. The part that disturbed be most was that Silver’s arms were missing. The usual part came when it showed the silhouette of the body of your rival, but something seemed wrong. I decided to watch the introduction, a wave of nostalgia washing over me from my old Heart Gold game. It started up as normal, with the Game Freak logo. After a while of being bored of playing Pokemon Platinum and Black, I decided to pop in Heart Gold. It was a bit scratched, so I didn’t feel like playing it and stuck it in my DS traveling case. ![]() ![]() I had went to Gamestop and bought a used Heart Gold cartridge. ![]() I had lost my old Pokemon Heart Gold cartridge a year ago, along with some other games I don’t remember and don’t care about anymore.
