![]() This saves some funds to get the Apothecary from the start to protect the more expensive players. You can make a good case here for starting with just two rerolls as you have the Thrower to work towards getting Leader. Not having the Blitzers does slightly lower the teams armour and weakens your defensive ability to get the ball off the other team. Starting all four will make it very hard for other teams to stop you scoring. All Out Catchers Elven Union Quantityīlood Bowl Second Season introduced extra winnings for each touchdown your team scores and nothing says scoring touchdowns like the Elven Union Catchers. The price increases that mean you’re now starting without the Thrower does mean you aren’t going to get Leader as easily. ![]() If you’re worried about losing the expensive players, then a variation of this roster would be to drop a reroll and start with the Apothecary. Save up for that Apothecary asap and then look to either adding the Thrower or just get more of those amazing Catchers. This is less important for Elven Union teams which is another reason the Thrower is the one I would start without. A lot of Elven teams can really only afford to start with two rerolls and so taking a player with easy access to get Leader is a popular option. This roster also lets you fit in three rerolls from the start. They just offer more to your team than the Throwers do and you aren’t giving up any armour verses the Thrower either. Elven Union also have the best Catchers in the game, they are fast, agile and have both Catch and Nerves of Steel. The Blitzers have slightly better armour and with Block and Side Step they are one of the most annoying players for opponents to deal with on both offence and defence. However you have decent speed and agility so you should be able to make do without passing a lot of the time. This does make dedicated Throwers more valuable if you are going to pass and the Elven Union Thrower is one of the best. Passing was never a massive part of Blood Bowl and in quite a few ways it’s been made even harder. This would be my choice of starting lineup, though the price increases have meant you can no longer start with a Thrower. 5x Linemen, 1x Thrower, 3x Catchers, 2x Blitzers and 2x Rerolls is 5k over the starting budget. The price rises have meant you can no longer afford to go heavy on positional players and get two rerolls. As with most teams the trade off is going to be between your starting rerolls and the expensive players. The Throwers and Catchers have also had a price increase which affects what you can afford to start with. This is the dwarfbowl edition.Elven Union teams have the advantage of the cheapest Elf player in the game but they also have some very expensive team mates. The main good news for me is the farewell to clawpombing, but this leads to dwarf supremacy. You could roll random general skills easilly and the low cost linemen and swarming rules are awesome, throw team mate is also improved.īig guys are also more usefull, thanks to the brawler skill and the ensured general secondary access that grants block and/or pro. The most important thing I am looking forward is how the new redraft rules are implemented in BB3, and how it affects matchmaking.Ī good thing is that stunties teams are really improved. The running game is improved instead, I am specially looking forward to use fumblerooskie to move the ball the entire pitch in a rugby-like play.įouling will be a main action on every match thanks to the new sneaky git skill and guard being used as a foul bonus, also pile driving being used several times per turn. Passing will be something even more marginal than now. Now you are forced to use throwers to pass effectively, but throwers are too expensive and need too many skills to be useful.
